| You can sit back & relax on its pebble beach, overlooking the surrounding islands that seem to magically float upon the shimmering sea or take a meander through its narrow streets winding down to the harbour, lined with old whitewashed villas with shuttered windows or just sit & sip a cool drink watching the world go by in one of many the bars where original carved Ottoman Greek timber balconies are garlanded with thick masses of brilliantly coloured bougainvillea cascading down on the streets below & if you are feeling energetic, you can enjoy many of the water sport activities, boat or gullet trip or take an adventure of exploration & discover the many wonders of the ancient ruins nearby.
At night, Kalkan comes alive as the town transforms itself & begins to bustle with excitement. There are many wonderful restaurants that contribute to the special atmosphere within Kalkan, dine in one of the candle lit roof terrace restaurants overlooking the tiled roof tops & the gleaming white dome of the mosque or by the beautiful harbour that is full of gulets and yachts. After dinner you can just go for a stroll around the shops which are filled with local crafts or sit in one of the excellent bars & nestle deep within the ottoman-style cushions & for those who like to dance, take yourself off to one the of the nightclubs & party the night away.
