Fethiye is a traditional market town that nestles in a natural harbour that is protected by the small islands off the shore & is set against the magnificent backdrop of the Taurus Mountains, surrounded by a beautiful, island-strewn bay.

It also exudes charm, with its bazaar-style shops, excellent restaurants & a market, which is amongst the very best & most diverse in the region. As dusk falls, the many cafes, lively bars & shops situated in the maze of narrow streets come to life, overlooked by the floodlit tomb of Amyntas, which dates back from 350 BC, a Doric temple façade carved in the rock face overlooking Fethiye.

You will find that Fethiye is encapsulated with most of the fascinating sites in the region & was built upon the ruins of the ancient city of Telmessos. It possesses remnants of its past, some impressive rock tombs & a recently excavated Hellenistic theatre. However, the majority of the ruins remain still buried under the quaint town.

It is a good starting point from which to explore the surrounding coast by traditional gulet & has become very popular with those learning to scuba dive as Fethiye is blessed with crystal clear waters & amazing scenery of drop-offs & reefs that are filled with rich colourful marine life.

Fethiye is also home to Ölüdeniz. A picture perfect bay with a tranquil lagoon & clear turquoise seas, superb white sand & fringed by pine-clad hills, this is a place that is known as "a paradise that God granted to Earth".

With everything that Fethiye has to offer, you will be spoilt for choice.
